Our
name has changed! Formerly Integrative Rehabilitation Physical
Therapy and Bodies in Balance Pilates Studio, we are now Bodies
in Balance. Why have we changed our name? Chattanooga has
embraced the idea of Pilates not only as a form of conditioning
but also as a valuable rehabilitation tool. Lisa and other Physical
Therapists have known and experienced the power of Pilates in the
movement re-education and rehabilitation field for several years.
We
are a specialty Pilates studio located in North Chattanooga. We
not only offer high caliber Pilates classes and private instruction,
but also Pilates-based Physical Therapy, general Physical Therapy,
and private strength and conditioning sessions.
Our
vision is to not only provide rehabilitation, but also injury prevention
and conditioning programs. Our services are intended for the general
fitness individual with or without previous experience, the team
sport participant, the weekend warrior, the athletic individual,
and the post-rehabilitation conditioning client who needs assistance
in filling the gap between the end of formal rehabilitation and
the return to full athletic/recreational activities.
Services
offered include:
- Individualized
strength and conditioning programs to achieve sports-related goals
such as speed, technique improvement (climbing, running, biking,
hiking, dance, basketball, et cetera), endurance, agility, power,
and strength. These programs may or may not include Pilates-based
exercises, depending upon the client's needs.
- Individualized
strength and conditioning programs for the general fitness individual
whether new to exercise or experienced.
- Individualized
strength and conditioning programs for the dance student.
- Private
or semi-private (2 participants) Pilates sessions.
- Small
group Pilates classes (8 participants).
- Appropriate
age groups include pre and post-adolescents.
- Pilates-based
rehabilitation is now available.
Pilates-based
programs provide:
- Core
stabilization instruction - excellent for spinal care of any stage.
- Improved
overall strength, flexibility, and symmetry.
- Highly
adaptable programs to meet individual orthopedic and neurological
limitations.
- Improved
postural and body awareness.
